What does the process look like?

During your appointment at Saor Studio, we will wash your hair at the basin, apply the formula to the hair, let it process for 60-90 minutes, rinse and dry the hair, before straightening the hair with a flat iron. The heat from the iron activates the nanoparticles, allowing them to penetrate.

How long does the Nanoplasty treatment take?

From beginning to end, the process will take at least 3 hours. The length of the treatment will vary depending on hair length, density etc.

What products should I use as after-care post Nanoplasty treatment?

We recommend using the BKT aftercare products (hydration shampoo, conditioner, mask and silk touch oil) as the ingredients marry together to make your hair feel that sense of freedom for longer. 

After Nanoplasty, you should use hydrating products that are sulphate and paraben free. You should avoid using products that are too repairing/reconstructing on a regular basis (for example Olaplex/K18 etc). In store at Saor Studio, we can analyse your hair type and recommend the best aftercare for you.

How long will my hair stay straight after Nanoplasty?

With our Nanoplasty treatment, your hair can stay straight for up to 8 months. This really depends on your hair type, how resistant your hair is etc. It is important to note that Nanoplasty has an accumulative effect so the more you get it done, the longer it will last and more effective the result will be.

Is Nanoplasty safe for blonde hair?

Yes, absolutely. The brand of Nanoplasty that we use at Saor Studio is safe for all hair types. In fact, our treatment is purple in colour, so will tone blonde hair and take out brassiness/unwanted yellow tones.

My hair is really curly and resistant, will it straighten my hair?

Yes, Nanoplasty will even work against coarse, curly and resistant hair. Lots of our clients have quite unruly hair and have found that Nanoplasty has made their hair so much more manageable, and saves so much time in their daily routine. Can I get colour done after Nanoplasty?

Yes, you can get your colour done in a salon straight after Nanoplasty. We recommend waiting at least 2-3 washes after the treatment so that the colour can penetrate effectively.

For colouring yourself at home, it would be best to wait at least 3-4 washes. 

Can I bleach my hair after Nanoplasty?

Yes, you can. Some things to be aware of: since Nanoplasty and bleach sit on the same layer of the cuticle, we would recommend waiting at least 4 weeks post treatment for bleaching/foils. We find it works best when you get your bleach/foils done 4 weeks prior to your Nanoplasty treatment. Please make your hairdresser/colourist aware that you have got Nanoplasty done.

Will Nanoplasty change my hair colour? 

Nanoplasty will lift your hair colour by 2-3 shades.

Can I swim after having Nanoplasty done? 

Yes, you can. We stock a leave-in spray that protects the hair from saltwater, chlorine and UV which is a perfect addition when on holidays. 

After your Nanoplasty treatment, your hair routine should focus on hydration (hydrating shampoos/conditioners/masks). It is important to note that saltwater and chlorine can dry out hair, so you should rehydrate your hair after swimming.

Is Nanoplasty suitable for those who are breastfeeding or pregnant?

Yes, the BKT Nanoplasty formula that we use is totally safe for those breastfeeding or pregnant as the ingredients are organically sourced. However, we always suggest checking with your doctor before attending your Nanoplasty appointment as we know not all pregnancies are the same.

Can I apply Nanoplasty on extensions?

Yes, you can as long as the extensions are made from real hair.
